A Happy Day as a Maker

Today was one of those days that was totally inspiring for me as a maker. I think I have been in a rut lately, stuck doing papers and midterms rather than in my happy place: crocheting! I spent a lot of time yesterday making, and it was SO nice, but it got even better today after meeting up with a woman who custom ordered from me!

As I walked to meet this woman who wanted football pillows for her son, I nervously hoped she would love them. For a lot of makers, that question always rests in the back of your mind. Will they like it? What if it isn’t what they hoped? Instantly, that fear was washed away. This woman jumped out of her seat at the good old Jersey Mike’s in Nashville, immediately exclaiming her excitement. She could not stop talking about how wonderfully squishy they were, or how her son was going to love them, and I could NOT stop smiling. Her affirmation completely made my day. She even bought me a drink! The moments like these are what makes me absolutely adore what I do. Sure, I love crocheting, but PEOPLE have always been my passion. Seeing people love what I do is what gives me fuel. As makers, we never forget these moments. What drives you forward with your business?
